Maps of Malaysia

This is an update of ASTER-GDEM Malaysia v1.01. The main changes are compatibility with more recent versions of Mapsource and incorporation of GSHHS v2 (coastlines) and HydroSHEDS rivers.

I believe this is the most detailed freely available topographic map of Malaysia available. It is best used combined with other (road) maps.

Note: If you are upgrading from version 1.01, you need only download this.

The basic instructions for installing this is:

1. Extract (unzip) the contents of the file into:
C:\Garmin\AG1-MY\

2. Incorporate the file AG1-MY.reg into the windows registry by double-clicking it. For your information, this is its contents:

Tiles are named as 60NN1EEE.img where NN is the number of degrees North and EEE is the number of degrees East of the lower left corner of the tile (all tiles are 1 degree squared). The "60" represents Malaysia's IDD code. The FID is 6021.
